If you change your mind
You have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason, within
a seven-day period, known as the cooling off period. This period runs
from:
- For goods - seven working days from the day on which the goods
are received or 3 months from the date of receipt of goods if you have
not received all the information you are entitled to or on the day on
which you received all the information you are entitled to.
- For services - seven working days from the day on which you
made the contract or 3 months from the day of making the contract if
you have not received all the information you are entitled to or on
the day on which you received all the information you are entitled to.
Refunds : If you have already paid for the goods/services, the
seller must refund your money within 30 days from the cancellation date.
You will have to pay for the cost of returning the good.
The right to cancel does not apply to :
- audio/video recordings or computer software when opened by the consumer.
- newspapers and magazines.
- betting, gaming or lottery services.
- food, drink or other goods intended for everyday consumption delivered
by regular roundsmen (such as milk).
- contracts for accommodation, transport, catering or leisure services,
for a specific time or date (such as train, airline tickets, concert
tickets or hotel bookings).
- goods made to order or which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
- in relation to services, if work has begun within the seven day period
by agreement.
- if price depends on fluctuations in financial markets.
You most likely will have to pay the cost of returning the goods unless
they are :
- Faulty
- Not of satisfactory quality
- Different to the ones you ordered (do not match their description)
- Substitute goods
Your rights outside Ireland / EU
As your rights under these Regulations stem from EU Directives, these
rights should be similar in all EU countries. When you shop from a non-EU
country your rights and responsibilities are likely to vary.
